Portfolio Manager

Matthew M. Gavel, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager

Numbers, numbers, and more numbers.

That’s what Matt Gavel’s best workday would include.

He loves the puzzle of analyzing a potential new client’s investments, providing oversight to recommended strategies that can help them meet their financial goals. His passion of not only numbers, but also statistics and how all play a role in investments is a key part of Domani Wealth’s Investment Strategy Group.

In his role as Senior Portfolio Manager, Matt works closely with our firm’s Wealth Advisors and clients, building each portfolio exclusively tailored to a client’s needs.

“I like to take a look ‘under the hood,’ and dig into the details,” he says. He’s known for taking the complexities he understands and distilling them down to simple thoughts to share with others.

Every day, Matt actively monitors the economy, the financial markets, and clients’ portfolios, providing relevant commentary to the Wealth Advisory Group. The core value that most resonates with him is ‘Curiosity,’ because he loves to learn and has always been fascinated by the capital markets and how they function, he says.

Matt also participates in Domani Wealth’s investment research and due diligence processes, providing research support to our Business Retirement Plan Services Group.

He’s always excited for a new opportunity to help clients with their financial future!

If he had a whole day to himself, he’d spend it at the beach with his family, though he probably wouldn’t bring his three cats. You may be surprised to learn Matt trained as an auto mechanic as his initial career choice before changing directions.
